Adeoriokin’s Death: Osun PDP Condoles Family, Tasks Police On Thorough Investigation
OSOGBO – osunpdp.com
Osun State Chapter of the PDP is deeply saddened with the news of the death of Dr Richard Idowu ‘Adeoriokin, which occurred yesterday in the ancient city of Ejigbo, Ejigbo local government of the state.
Dr Richard Idowu was reported to have met his untimely death in the hands of a trigger happy local hunter after a social function in his community of Ejigbo, in which the deceased participated actively in his usual manner.
Osun PDP is deeply concerned with the unguarded conduct of the said local hunter which resulted in the painful loss of Dr Richard Idowu, a budding community leader in his prime, whose dedication to development of his place of birth could not be controverted
Adeoriokin was also a frontline member of our party in Osun State and his death has really left a very big hole, difficult to fill in the party.
While we understand that no amount of admonition at this time could heal the clusters of wounds the brutal death of Adeoriokin has opened in the hearts of his immediate members of his family, we earnestly call on the police authorities to do everything in their reach, to unscramble all puzzles around this tragic incident, with a view to bringing all those culpable to trenches of justice.
We also implore the police to as a matter of urgency, de-escalate proliferation of firearms in the hands of criminal elements disguising around as organized security groups.
As a mark of honour for our departed member, all party activities in Ede Federal Constituency are to be suspended in the next 7 days, while officials of our party in Ede Federal constituency are to open condolence registers in the local governments making up the federal constituency. All party flags are to be flown at half-mast within the stipulated period of mourning too.
Once again, we sympathize with the immediate family, the Ogiyan in Council as well as the people of the ancient community of Ejigbo Dr Richard Idowu ‘Adeoriokin left behind. Our thoughts are with everyone affected in this very sad development, just as we pray to God Almighty to grant all of us the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Signed
Hon Sunday Bisi
