Ambassadors Club of Iwo celebrate 20yrs of Existence
AN ADDRESS OF WELCOME DELIVERED BY THE MAYOR OF AMIABLE AMBASSADORS CLUB, IWO AT THE CLUB’S GET-TOGETHER HELD ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 26TH,2024.

May I start this Welcome address by thanking Almighty God for his blessings over us. You will all agree with me that God has been very merciful to us for reaching this milestone in history of this great Club. Our gathering here this morning is all about thanksgiving.
20 years ago, with spirit of service to humanity, as young boys growing to understand life of service, you will recall that we mutually came together to form this club with the sole aim of using it as a tool to render humanitarian service.
Though we call it a social club, Ambassadors Club Iwo is unarguably a service-club.
Going down memory lane,on 28th day of March 2004, Ambassadors Club came into being but the Inauguration which featured Induction and Investiture of the Club’s patrons, patroness and advisers and launching of charity foundation tagged “AMCHAF” (AMBASSADORS CLARITY FOUNDATION) came up on 11th day of December 2004 at OMO OBA HOTELS IWO.
Ever since then, Amiable Ambassadors Club has been second to none in the league of Social Clubs in Iwo and its environs.
Let me re-jiggle your memories on some of the contributions of Amiable Ambassadors Club :
- Provision and Distribution of free First Aid-Boxes to some groups like Disabled Peoples’ Association, RTEAN, market women, etc
- Procurement of basic and essential drugs for the first-aide boxes.
- Organisation of Annual Quiz competition among the Secondary Schools in Iwo and its environs from 2004 till 2008.
- Organisation of Essay writing competition among Secondary schools in Iwo.
- Organisation of Symposium at different times in consecutive years.
- Giving financial supports to some groups and individuals.
I can continue to count on-and-on about the achievement and contribution of this great club.
Great Ambassadors, like we all know, today is not a speech giving day, we are only here to thank God Almighty.
Today’s programme is more or less an activity to commence the 20 years Anniversary as we shall be Unveiling the Planning committee for the elaborate ceremony that shall come up next year. Here today, we will have a privilege of listening to a lecture from invited Guest Speaker. At this juncture, I will like to express our profound gratitude to our guest Speaker, in person Engr. (Prince) Adedapo Maruf. Also, at this gathering today, we shall induct new member into the club.
Dear great Ambassadors, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, I welcome you all and I thank you for being part of our success story.
