Muhammadu Sanusi II, Emir of Kano, Earns Doctorate After Successful Viva Voce
Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, has been awarded a doctorate following the successful completion of his Viva Voce, a significant milestone in the PhD journey. The Viva Voce, an oral examination, is a critical component in the doctoral process at many universities.
Kadaria Ahmed, CEO of RadioNow 95.3FM, announced the achievement on her Facebook page on Saturday, highlighting that Sanusi’s PhD thesis was accepted without any need for amendments or corrections.
Her statement read: “I’m pleased to share that our Khalifa, our King, HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II, has now earned the title of Doctor after successfully completing his Viva Voce. His PhD was approved exactly as submitted, without the need for any amendments or corrections. The examiners extended their congratulations to Dr. Sanusi.
“I am thrilled to join the examiners in congratulating Mai Martaba. Alhamdullilah.”
Muhammadu Sanusi II is a respected economist and intellectual, who served as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria from 2009 to 2014. During his tenure, he was known for his bold reforms in the banking sector and his efforts to stabilize Nigeria’s economy. After his tenure at the Central Bank, Sanusi ascended to the throne as the 14th Emir of Kano, one of the most influential traditional roles in Nigeria, where he has been an outspoken advocate for economic and social reforms.
