A Mobil filling station near Airport Hotel, Ikeja, on Obafemi Awolowo Way, Lagos State, was, on Thursday, gutted by fire.
An explosion was heard at the station around 11 a.m. during a busy period when motorists were buying Petroleum Motor Spirit popularly called petrol.
Thestandardnews gathered that vehicles including a gas tanker, cars, and at least a bus got burnt at the filling station.An undisclosed number of people were also reported to have sustained injuries during the incident although no casualty as at the time of filing this report.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) were at the scene of the incident for rescue operations while security agents were stationed to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
