BREAKING: INEC Announces Official Results of 2024 Ondo Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the victor of the highly anticipated 2024 Ondo State governorship election.

The declaration was made on Sunday at the INEC headquarters in Akure, signaling the conclusion of the electoral process.

Aiyedatiwa, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured a decisive victory with a total of 366,781 votes. His strong showing in the polls was enough to ensure his continued leadership in the state.

The runner-up in the election was Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered a significantly lower total of 117,845 votes, trailing Aiyedatiwa by a wide margin. Despite Ajayi’s efforts, the APC candidate’s lead proved insurmountable.

The final tally of votes across all participating parties is as follows:

  • APC: 366,781 votes
  • PDP: 117,845 votes
  • Labour Party (LP): 1,162 votes
  • Zeno Labour Party (ZLP): 2,692 votes
  • All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA): 4,138 votes

This outcome reflects a clear preference from the electorate, as Governor Aiyedatiwa will now continue his mandate as the governor of Ondo State, with the full support of his party, the APC.
