Dr Biyi Odunlade Urges Osun Residents To Participate Peacefully In Saturday’s Local Government Election

The Osun State Commissioner for Intergovernmental and Political Affairs, Dr. Biyi Odunlade has urged residents of the state to come out in large numbers on Saturday, February 22, 2025, to exercise their franchise in the local government election.
Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to a free, fair, and credible electoral process,Dr. Odunlade assured the public that Governor (Dr.) Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke remains dedicated to protecting lives and maintaining law and order. He emphasized that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure a peaceful voting exercise, warning that any attempt to disrupt the process would not be tolerated.
Addressing concerns over reports of potential disruptions, he reassured residents that the election would proceed as scheduled. “No act of lawlessness will be allowed to undermine the democratic rights of the people. The election will hold, and every eligible voter must be given the opportunity to make their voice heard,” he stated.
Dr. Odunlade called on all stakeholders, political parties, and supporters to conduct themselves peacefully and respect the electoral process. He emphasized that democracy thrives on active civic participation and urged residents to come out boldly and vote, knowing that their security is guaranteed.
He concluded by reiterating the government’s commitment to transparency and fairness in the electoral process, stressing the need for collective efforts in building a stronger and more democratic Osun State.
