Eid-el-Fitr: Keep praying for us, Adeleke’s SA, Durojaye charges Muslims

The Special Adviser to Osun State Governor on Cooperatives and Empowerment, Hon. Durojaye Isaac, has called for unity and peaceful coexistence among residents of the state and the country at large.

He also urged Muslims, as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, to continue to pray for the state.

This is contained in a statement by his media office, on Sunday.

He said, “Congratulations to my Muslim brethren for seeing yet another Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

“In the last 29 days, you have fasted and prayed for ourselves, our family, and our nation.

“I want to urge you all to keep praying for us. Pray for the present Ademola Adeleke’s administration in Osun State as prayer is never too much.

“As Yoruba people will always say, what is already good needs prayer and the one that is yet to be, also needs prayer.

“Let us also make sure that now and beyond, we live in unity because united we stand and divided we fall.’’

Durojaye said: “While the Ramadan lasted, the season of fasting and prayer offered all Muslims the opportunity to reflect on their relationship with Allah. It also enabled those with means to share food with the poor, the needy and the less-privileged.

“For all Muslims, it was an opportunity to rededicate themselves to the teachings of the faith and the cause of mankind as a whole. Altogether, it was a period of deep reflection on the inter-relationship between man and his neighbour, on the one hand, as well as man and his God, on the other.

“Even though the month-long fasting has come and gone, these lessons must endure. As one of the five pillars of Islam, Ramadan has a highly spiritual significance.

“It is a period of self-emptying without which no spiritual being can have a truly rewarding relationship with his or her maker. The aim is to enhance spiritual growth and foster charity and brotherly love.”

Durojaye also expressed government commitment to the ongoing projects in the state.

He said the present administration is committed to the completion of every project embarked upon in the state.
