“I will not disappoint you,” Alhaji Mao vows as PDP flags off campaign for Isokan LG poll with walking rally

Ahead of the forthcoming Osun State Local Government Elections coming up by February 25 2025, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Isokan Local Government has today, flagged off its campaign activities and vowed to sustain Governor Adeleke’s legacy of good governance.
Speaking during the event, Dr KK Akinroye, who represented Governor Ademola Adeleke, described local government elections as one of the critical components of democracy in the country. He urged the people of Isokan Local Government to vote for PDP candidates in the approaching February election, stressing that the importance of local government elections in Nigeria’s democracy cannot be overemphasized. He equally assured the citizens that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration is committed to a peaceful election and highlighted the developmental progress achieved by the Governor in his two years of office.
He emphasized that electing PDP candidates would guarantee the continuity of the state’s social and economic progress under the watch of Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke. “I call on all the good people of Isokan Local Government to vote for our candidates as we have confidence in their loyalty, patriotism, transparency, and commitment to serving the Local Government and humanity in accordance with our party’s philosophy.”
The Party Chairman in the Local Government, Hon. Yusuf Akeem Painter, charged party members to penetrate the polling units in all the nooks and crannies of the Local Government for a serious campaigns so as to enable the party’s candidates emerge winners in the elections. “We have confidence that Apomu and Ikoyi, being PDP strongholds for years, will overwhelmingly vote for our candidates, since it is part of the democratic process to go out for campaigns during election periods, let us uphold the tradition and use it as a time to meet and greet all the people in our community.”
Also, the Director-General for the campaign, Omooba Afolabi Abioye Ayepareti, reiterated the PDP’s commitment to progress since the creation of the Local Government, urging voters to support the party’s candidates. “Governor Ademola Adeleke’s achievements in Isokan Local Government in his two years of office, compared with the previous administration, are enough to elect our candidates in the February 25th Election. Our antecedent as a party remains the best in the history of our Local Government since its creation. We will sustain this legacy if elected.”
The PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Alhaji Azeez Lateef Adeniran Mao, promised not to disappoint the good people of Isokan Local Government. He emphasized the need to prioritize the welfare of the people, ensuring that his administration will be characterized by transparency, accountability, and participatory governance.
“My vision is to build a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable local government, where every citizen has access to opportunities and resources that foster growth and development,” Alhaji Mao stated. “I am committed to creating an environment that promotes economic prosperity through job creation and entrepreneurship support, social inclusivity by promoting equality and access to opportunities, and environmental sustainability through eco-friendly initiatives and infrastructure development. If you give me the mandate, I will not disappoint you.”
Hon. Moshood Adesuyi Momoh, the Vice chairmanship candidate, didn’t mince words when describing the APC, calling them an “association of vampires” that must be rejected in any election. He pointed out that during APC’s four-years rule, Ikoyi community received no benefits from their administration, whereas Governor Adeleke’s administration has made significant strides in just two years with boreholes drilled in all Ikoyi Wards. Also the renovation of Health Centres In Oranran and Abiri, 1.5km Road linking Apomu for easier transportation and classrooms renovation to Improve educational infrastructure, amongst others.
Hon. Momoh urged Ikoyi community and Isokan as a whole to vote for the PDP in the forthcoming election for the continuous progress of Governor Adeleke and the People’s Democratic Party in the Local Government
