Osun Agric Commissioner Charges Women Farmers To Maximize Farm Equipment

Osun Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Otunba Tola Faseru has enjoined women farmers in the State, especially in Olaoluwa Local Government Area, to ensure that the farm processing equipments, tools and livestock distributed to them are used solely for the purpose of growing their Agricultural businesses.
The Commissioner gave the charge while flagging off the multi-million naira farm processing equipment, tools and livestock such as goats and broilers distributed to women farmers, which was a project sponsored by the world Bank, in collaboration with Osun State Government, held at Bode-osi in Ola- Oluwa Local Government area of the State.
Hon. Faseru, who described Governor Adeleke as farmers’ friendly, enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment and livestock given to them, while emphasizing that this will give them the opportunity to benefit more in the future.
He explained that out of the 30 Local Governments and one Area office in Osun, only three of them, such as, Oke -Ila, Atakumosa and Ola-Oluwa are able to benefit from the intervention. He then appreciated the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke and the World Bank for the good gesture, advancing that the project will go a long way in boosting the overall economy of the State and the country at large.
In their separate remarks , special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and OSSADEC, Hon. Olaniran Akanfe Atidade and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Miss Adegbemisola Fayoyin appreciated the State Government for her generosity towards women farmers, charging them to use the material for the intended purpose.
In their royal remarks, the Olubode of Bode- Osi, Oba Nureni Abioye, Awara of Iwara, Oba Timothy Oyebanji and Onigege of Igege, Oba Kazeem Adio, appreciated the sponsor of the program and the State Government for the support given to women farmers. They charged the beneficiaries to use the equipments judiciously.
In their separate words of appreciation, Mrs Ejalonibu Titilayo and Mrs Oyewole Esther, who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries, appreciated the State Government and World Bank for the kind gesture, promising to maximize the equipments.
Highlights of the programme was the presentation of the tools and livestock to the women farmers, as well as educating them on how to handle them.
