Osun LG poll: Forget plan council take-over, Haruna, Ife East PDP candidate warns APC
The chairmanship candidate of the peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ife-East Local Government, Hon. Haruna Odunyemi has warned the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state to forget its purported planned to resume office in all the council areas on Monday as a result of appeal court judgement.
Haruna made this known at the Ward-to-Ward campaign at Okerewe ward I, saying that PDP would resist them if attempt to carried out its threat. He said PDP is a party of peace loving people, stressing that if push to wall, the party will react accordingly.
PDP wouldl continue to do the need of the people as much as the party continues to be in government. “Osun people have tasted different parties and have tested which is better. But Osun people have rejected APC. If PDP continues to do the needs of the people, they would not seek for alternative political party”.
He said there would be change and development at grassroots where people would continue to enjoy dividends of democracy. He stressed that PDP is the party of the people, the party that understands where the shoe pinches the citizens.
The PDP candidate noted that the Certified True Copy of appeal court judgement has been released, stressing that there is no place wherein reinstated the sacked chairmen and councilors.
“It was confirmed that the sacked council chairmen and councilors were planning to resume office on Monday. If they attempt to forcefully gain entrance into the council, we would resist them.
“We are peace loving party men and women but if they push us to wall, we would challenge them. We did not disturb them when they were in office for almost twelve years.
Similarly, Durojaye Isaac, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Cooperatives and Empowerment who spoke on behalf of the Prof. Wale Ladipo, described PDP as a party of the Osun people, saying Governor Ademola Adeleke has transformed the state through several infrastructure development, education, health, agriculture.
He urged the people of the Okerewe Ward I to vote for PDP candidate, Hon. Haruna Odunyemi as chairman and other councilors in the forthcoming Local Government election.
