Osun State Celebrates Introduction of Annual Academic Excellence Awards

Osun State witnessed a moment of celebration with the launch of four annual academic prizes designed to recognize and reward outstanding students for their achievements.
The Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Sustainable Development Goals & Multilateral Relations, Bamikole Omisore, made this announcement during his lecture at the opening of the JAMB seminar organised by the Ife Youth Organisation for over 250 students. He stated that the initiative would further complement the government’s efforts to enhance education in the state.
Omisore, who was the guest speaker at the event, unveiled the annual academic prizes, which will recognise exceptional students from Ife, widely regarded as the cradle of the Yoruba race, across various fields. The prizes include the Ademola Adeleke Prize for the Best Student in Criminal Justice & Law, the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Education Prize for Medical Students, the Chief Bisi Omisore Prize for Business Management, and the Dele Momodu Prize for Mass Communication & Journalism.
“It is my hope that this initiative will further complement the tremendous work being done by Governor Ademola Adeleke and His Excellency Prince Kola Adewusi to improve education in Osun State,” he remarked.
These prizes, he said, are in addition to the cash rewards for the top three students in the upcoming JAMB examination and a yearly pledge of N500,000 to the Ife Youth Organisation to support the educational needs of youths in Ife.
In his address, Omisore, who highlighted key educational interventions of the Adeleke administration, urged the students to remain diligent in their academic pursuits, emphasising the rich history of Western Nigeria and the critical role education plays in shaping a greater future.
Earlier in the year, Omisore donated funds to support students from less privileged backgrounds in and around Ife, ensuring they could register for the JAMB examination.
