Osun Workers Union (OWU): A Faceless, Baseless Union in Osun – NLC

The attention of Osun State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has been drawn to a delusional and misleading report titled; “Workers slam NLC, NULGE Chairmen for supporting law violation” purportedly issued by a libelous group of people called Osun Workers Union (OWU). It is crystal clear that the said elements are not legally or constitutionally recognized as an affiliate of the two labour centres in Nigeria. So it is surprisingly amazing for them to be tagged as a representative of the workers.
It is also surprising that the acclaimed representative of the workers will choose to sacrifice the lives of her workers when the environment to work is plagued with insecurity.
This is also an opportunity to educate the faceless and opportunistic group of terms used within the Congress. It is not surprising that they displayed their ignorance publicly and revealing to the world that they are not part of the recognized labour centre in Nigeria. They referred to the leaders of NLC and NULGE in the State as Chairmen, but rather it is called Chairperson and President.
I challenge this hungry and thirsty attention seekers to present to the public their certificate of registration as a trade union from the Registrar of Trade Unions, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment. They are baseless and faceless people. Where is their Union Secretariat in Osun and Nigeria?
Finally, I urge Osun State Workers to disregard the fabrications of these nameless group as all they have said remains filament of their weird imagination and their paymasters. Osun State can’t forget so soon that propaganda is their stock of trade. I want to assure the workers that the Congress remain focused in carrying out her duties to the workforce.
Long Live NLC
Long Live Osun State
Long Live Nigeria
Comrade (Dr) Christopher Abimbola Arapasopo
Chairperson, NLC
