A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand – Kola Olabisi Goofed Badly Over His Claims On Osun APC Crisis.
I read with great dismay the recent submission by the Osun APC Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Kola Olabisi, on the ongoing crisis within his factionalised party. It is quite unfortunate that someone in his position would resort to shallow rhetoric and incoherent justifications in a bid to cover up the obvious cracks in Osun APC. Mr. Olabisi, if you must defend your party’s sinking ship, kindly come with facts, not fiction. Your response was riddled with fallacies and intellectual laziness — an embarrassment to the office you occupy.
It is no longer news that the APC in Osun State is plagued with deep, unresolved internal crises —crises that have made unity impossible and leadership an illusion. The scramble for the 2026 governorship ticket has further torn the party apart, with various factions struggling for control, leaving the party in total disarray.
Only recently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Mr. Sooko Lawal, the embattled Osun APC chairman, as Board Chairman of a Federal College — an appointment reportedly secured through intense lobbying and even subtle interventions from concerned PDP stakeholders who wished to spare him a public disgrace orchestrated by the Omisore, Dọtun Babayemi, and Kayode Oduoye-led faction. These same individuals, who defected from PDP to APC in a desperate bid to access federal power, have been thoroughly humiliated and sidelined. Their silence and failure to congratulate Mr. Lawal speak volumes — they are disgruntled, frustrated, and defeated.
Dọtun Babayemi, who hoped to secure the APC governorship ticket, was left out in the cold — even after the ticket was zoned to Osun West. His camp is now embittered and plotting against the very party he ran to. Chief Bisi Akande’s futile efforts to secure the same appointment for an ally were also thwarted by Abuja-based APC powerbrokers who fear Baba Akande’s growing influence in Osun APC.
Let me remind Mr. Olabisi how Osun APC was also divided prior to the 2022 governorship election. I sounded the alarm then, but it was arrogantly dismissed — yet everything I predicted came to pass. Today, Osun APC is a ticking time bomb. No amount of media whitewashing can erase the reality: the party is broken, bitter, and bereft of direction.
I hereby challenge Mr. Olabisi to a public debate — a comparison between the APC’s years of misrule and Governor Ademola Adeleke’s transformative leadership in just two years. Can he deny that Governor Adeleke is paying the 38 months of salary arrears owed by APC? Can he refute the groundbreaking work done in youth empowerment, massive infrastructure renewal, public healthcare renovation, and general welfare improvements?
The people of Osun have moved on — APC is now history. It is insulting for Mr. Olabisi to keep dancing naked in the marketplace of shame, knowing full well that his party is politically irrelevant and rejected across the 332 wards of Osun.
Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke is not just different — he is in a league of his own. A governor with purpose, performance, and the people’s mandate. In two years, he has achieved what APC could not accomplish in over a decade. Osun State is progressing, and the people are not ready to go back to the dark days of deceit and disaster.
Let it be known far and wide: Governor Ademola Adeleke is here to stay — and by the will of the people, he will remain in office till 2030.
